  • I've always wondered about my political stance.

    ACCORDING
    TO YOUR ANSWERS,

    The

    political description that
    fits you best is...

    .

    CENTRIST

    CENTRISTS
espouse a "middle ground" regarding government

    control
of the economy and personal behavior. Depending on

    the
issue, they sometimes favor government intervention

    and
sometimes support individual freedom of choice.

    Centrists
pride themselves on keeping an open mind,

    tend
    to oppose "political extremes," and
    emphasize
    what

    they
describe as "practical" solutions to problems
    .

    The RED
    DOT
on the Chart shows where you fit on the political map.

    Your PERSONAL issues
    Score is 60%.
    Your ECONOMIC issues Score
    is 60%.
(Please note: Scores falling on the Centrist border
    are counted as Centrist.)

  • What to do after college?

Would you do some interesting research at Stanford (or other nice university), turn into a professor, do more research and get tenure (life long job security) OR
work at Google as a Program Manager, and start climbing the corporate ladder?

    Or join a startup?

    Or start a company?

I think this is the classic acedemia vs industry decision most near-graduates face.

  • A Difficult Choice: Apple vs. The Matrix

    A difficult choice.

    Guess which one I picked.

    ilikebetter predictions:
    (some are obviously wrong)

    You're a guy.
    You prefer boxers.
    Your desk is a mess.
    You avoid junk food.
You would say your household income is at the upper class level.
    You attended college.
    You're fifty or older.
You are not very interested in matters of technology.
    You are fairly wealthy.
    You're a night person
You often employ logic in your decision-making.
You're someone who has a few close friends.
You're the kind of person who thinks first and acts later.
    You are right-handed.
I bet you find it easy to empathize with other people.
You study/work better without music playing in the background.
When it comes to politics, you're liberal.
When it comes to politics, you're conservative.

(I don't even know myself -- if I'm liberal or conservative.)

This was my nerdy attempt at discovering myself. I guess I really need a roadtrip.

I should be deciding between a PhD at Stanford or a job in Silicon Valley, but instead I'm thinking about what I want to do before I die.

I think I think too much.

  • Korean Movies

Why do Korean movies have to have such sad endings. Arghhh! Out of all of the foreign language films I've watched, the Korean films definately had the highest number of sad endings.

    Here's a plot summary:

    Shadiness
    Love
    Shadiness
    Complications
    Shadiness
    Love (Maternal)
    Understanding
    Death?
    Love Lost and Sadness

  • Interesting

...This view was boosted in recent years by the neurobiologist Benjamin
Libet at the University of California. In an experiment he asked
subjects to perform a simple task, eg wiggle their little finger, at a
time of their own choosing, and measured accompanying brain activity.
Surprisingly, Libet could detect brain activity that predicted imminent
finger wiggling nearly half a second before the subjects were aware
they had decided to wiggle their finger!
