Woot!
I'm getting a bonus for being a good Google Ambassador =)

Dear Kevin,
Thank you for helping spread the word to your peers about the Google Gadget Awards several weeks ago. We really appreciate your efforts. And...
Congratulations! The University of Washington was in the top 20% of schools with gadgets submitted to the awards.
To thank you for your hard work...--------------------------------------------------------------

haha working for google would be quite an adventure. if you want to give your best effort, it makes sense to work for the best. I follow this philosophy as well.
its got a drupal core. mysql php
the model centric idea isn't a bad idea. I may implement something like that down the road. with something this new and a concept this unique, I have to take things one step at a time. But i really do like that idea.
i'm too far down the drupal path to switch now, drupal is very promising and I think will be a major player down the road. I don't have time to learn another cms at the moment. its pretty effective as it stands for now, although its still very much in its infancy. the site will be constantly evolving depending on the communiy's initial reaction. It will be a very turblent first year for sure.
the site could most accurately be described as an asian maxim merged with break.com
i'll miss my launch deadline if i spend time learning the ins and outs of each cms. cnet has rated drupal the top cms recently so i'll stick with it until i see accelerated promise in the others. from what i see with it so far, its very scalable and module integration and updating is very streamlined. the only downside is that module development is only as fast as the open source community. the most important thing is to roll out with a beta RAD style and build on it from there. otherwise nothing will ever get done and someone else might beat me to the punch.
oh yeah when you're done playing with django, let me know what you think of it. we'll compare notes! i'd like to see how it handles its media
